TOTALLY MILD FROM ONE ANOTHER

With the recurring appearance of Melbourne’s Totally Mild, it’s safe to say that this band is finding a special place in our hearts over here at The Most Radicalist. We recently shared the single ‘From One Another’ with you, from which we highlighted: “[Elizabeth] Mitchell’s lyrics represent a hardened disillusionment within a musical reverie, suggesting that the end is not quite in sight yet.” Well that’s certainly true as Totally Mild are back on our radar with a music video for ‘From One Another’. Set in a bar that appears to be a watering hole for various oddballs, deviants and outsiders, the camera pans around the room treating our eyes to a variety of scenarios from lonely drinkers, post-work drowners, seance holders, hippy pint drinkers and so on. You could hardly fail to notice the singular figure of the band’s frontwoman as she stares into the distance, with wet hair and feeble smile. If you’ve been paying even closer attention, you small recall Mitchell swimming in a pool, in the same red dress in the previous music video for ‘Today Tonight’. And so the story continues… - HT
